We were alerted in the afternoon on 8 October that a student has tested positive for Covid-19. The student in question had been self-isolating since before the start of their symptoms and has not been in school during the infectious period. Public Health England have advised us that because of this, there is no need to send any further students or staff home. All students and staff should continue to attend as normal, unless they display symptoms of Covid-19. This situation is different and separate to the isolated confirmed case of COVID-19 last night where 39 pupils and 1 member of staff were told to isolate for 14 days as a result of an infected individual attending school, during the time they may have been infectious. The health, safety and wellbeing of all of our staff and young people is our top priority. We have put extensive measures in place to mitigate against the risk of transmission. We will continue to monitor the situation working closely with Public Health England.
