Year 6: Transition St James

At St James, we know that choosing a secondary school is a big decision for your whole family. Therefore, we are delighted to offer open morning tours for you and your child to come and have a look at St James during our school day. This is fantastic opportunity for you to experience St James, have a look at our lessons and see first-hand how our students interact with each other. At St James, we ask our students to work hard and be kind, and this is exactly what you will see.

You will be greeted by a member of our senior leadership team and then taken on a tour by our fantastic student leaders. Our tours are aimed at specific primary schools on different days to ensure that your child feels comfortable and also to minimize disruption to Year 6 lessons at school. You have 4 tour times to choose from in the morning.

In addition to our open morning tours, we would like to invite you to join us on our open evening on Thursday 10th of October between 6pm and 8pm. There will be a talk by Miss Emily Harper, Headteacher, at 6pm and again at 7pm, with the rest of the time free for you to take a guided tour of the school or to tour the school at your own leisure. All subjects that are offered will have staff and students ready to talk to you and the more practical subjects such as Science, Food Technology, Art and PE will have demonstrations your child can get involved with. There is no need to sign up for the evening, everyone is welcome.
